Putting together the music list for our wedding was an enjoyably, tedious task. We knew the genre and general feel we wanted to listen to but drew a brain freeze when it came to songs for specific moments throughout the reception.
To assist with the planning, DiscJockeys.com has compiled an extensive list to help couples select music.
First Dance Music: First dance as husband and wife.
Father/Daughter Music: The dance between the new bride and her father.
Mother/Son Music: The dance between the husband and his mother.
Bridal Party Dances Music: The dance including the Bride & Groom, Bridesmaids & Groomsmen, and family members.
Cutting The Cake Music: Played while the Bride & Groom cut the cake.
Garter And Bouquet Toss Music: Played during the bouquet toss and garter toss.
Last Dance Music: The last song of the night for the Bride & Groom and their remaining guests.

This board was inspired by the image of a Hawaiian sunset. mmm, Hawaii. Purple happens to be my favorite color, and the deep plum paired with that vibrant orange makes my heart beat a little faster. The star patterned lattern can be found online at the paper lantern store, the bridesmaid dresses are by one of our favorite designers–jim hjelm, and the gemstones are amethyst and carnelian. Enjoy and be inspired!

I just wanted to take a moment out of our general wedding focus to say congratulations to my partner, my little sister, and the major drive behind this blog, Louise. She finally gave birth to an adorable, 8 pound 10 ounce baby girl this morning after days of labor. Welcome to the world Harlem, and CONGRATULATIONS, Sis! You did a beautiful job!
