Beauty In The Details

My close friends were recently married and I am so happy they put the extra “oomph” into planning out the details of their wedding. I snapped a few photos of some of my favorite items that really made their event stand out from the rest.

ITDBlog Top 5 :: Wedding Themes

Posted on October 18th, 2009 by nisha  |  No Comments »

Weddings differ from couple to couple, particularly pertaining to style and desired mood. However, no matter the style, the theme of a wedding is often the key to its success or failure. Think about it, there’s simple and then there’s just plain eew!, which is not to say that a wedding can’t be simple and affordable. No, in fact we are lovers of saving money and being fabulous at the same time. Therefore, we think planning and creativity is key to pulling off any kind of wedding. With that said, here are our top picks for gorgeous wedding themes that can be tailored to fit your budget.

The Cultural Wedding: from So This is Bliss
Weddings that reflect the history and culture of the bride and groom have the ability to add a rich, deeply connected feel to the joyous event. What better way to evoke the ancestors of your past than to mark the day with reminders of their existence?

The Black/White Wedding: from The Cinderella Project
A black and/or white wedding has such vast potential that you can have the theme over and over yet never see the same creation repeated. Plus, it is so easy to use these monochromes at various levels of formality that you really can’t go wrong.

The Simple Wedding: from Perfect Bound
Simple and easy really is a great way to go for a more intimate, family oriented day. I particularly love traditions where the family cooks for the big day instead of ordering food through a caterer. It feels like being at home. You can use attire and slight decoration to boost the formality factor without losing the warmth or ease.

The Garden Wedding: from Here Comes the Guide
Garden weddings are great for a tight budget. The natural scenery helps you save on decorations while creating a timeless, magic atmosphere for your event.

The Destination Style Wedding: It’s a Jamie Thing
No one said you actually had to go to a destination to enjoy a destination style wedding. All you need is a few key representations of the locale, like color schemes, product names, music style selections, etc. and you’ve got your ready-made location without having to foot the bill for travel expenses. This is a perfect choice if you can’t afford the time or monetary cost for a honeymoon right away.

Love & Splendor Spotlight

Posted on September 26th, 2009 by LG  |  No Comments »

Based in Southern California, Love & Splendor is an event and design firm and their work is incredible. Browsing their site, I came across a wedding they did with a citrus and gray color scheme. Gorgeous, fresh and so beautifully unique are the words that come to mind.

“julia contacted me with a vision for a fresh, chic, spring-inspired affair that reflected a love for literature. we discussed a citrus + gray palette that had me absolutely smitten. when you pair poppy sorbet colors with cool, calm slate gray, you get magic! pure white was the perfect addition for a neutral accent. the final result? a refreshing, cheerful, and altogether sweet scene that made me (literally) squeal with joy.”
