It seems to always start with the shoes. Those gorgeous two-tones do not disappoint in the inspiration search. The pink and orange lovelies really shout what summer is all about…sexy, sultry, heat. So yeah, this board is in homage to those shoes.

This board was inspired by the image of a Hawaiian sunset. mmm, Hawaii. Purple happens to be my favorite color, and the deep plum paired with that vibrant orange makes my heart beat a little faster. The star patterned lattern can be found online at the paper lantern store, the bridesmaid dresses are by one of our favorite designers–jim hjelm, and the gemstones are amethyst and carnelian. In case it hasn’t been made obviously clear, I have a chocolate addiction. I love the color, the texture, and the taste, not to mention it’s extremely versatile. In kind, this week’s board pairs that lovely hue with a color I think compliments and is complimented perfectly by it, sky blue. If you ask me, this color combination isn’t used enough. I’m not much of a pink person, but I must admit that this pink and gold is gorgeous. Romantic, classy, dreamy and subtle, this color combo is the stuff of every childhood girly, princess fantasy without being overly ‘feminine’. Even though a lot of men can and do sport pink with much style, the addition of the gender neutral gold will make his man genes a little more accepting of its pink partner. Tip: Using rose more of an accent color will make its beauty have more of an impact.

If you spend time searching for the perfect dress, you want your face to reflect that same time and care. A professional cosmetologist will know the best color selections and what will stand up to the endless pictures, hugs and kisses on that day.

First, select your style (Natural, Romantic, Eclectic, Vintage, etc.) then collect pictures from various magazines. Don’t limit yourself to wedding magazines. You may find inspiration from somewhere you least expect. Clearly communicate with your selected cosmetologist your strict do’s and don’ts but be open to suggestions on the trial day.
