If the vision of your wedding does not include a white dress, you are not alone. Many brides are choosing to branch out and wear various colors for their big day. Shake off the stigma of what you are “suppose” to do or wear and be bold if that is what your heart desires.

Consider breaking with tradition on a smaller scale and check out pale grays and pinks.

It starts with an inspiration. One picture from a magazine, a discussion on a forum or walking around your neighborhood. The color theme of a wedding sets the tone for the entire feeling of your event. You will notice we use inspiration boards a lot because they help organize thoughts and show you how cohesive everything will be in the end. In that same vein, we found an incredible pallet generator on this website that takes a sample photo you upload and picks out certain colors and shows you swatches you can use to incorporate in your flowers, centerpieces, bridesmaids dresses, etc.

Traditionally, there are 2-3 colors in a wedding but I am not the traditional type. If you want more and know you can tie it in well, do it! Use two main colors for your bridesmaids and groomsmen then add another color to the ceremony decor, i.e. chair adornments, fans, programs. Your reception is where you can bring everything together and show off the color scheme on each table or throughout the room.
