1940′s Glam

Posted on February 11th, 2009 by LG  |  3 Comments »

This post was a selfish decision because I absolutely LOVE the idea of a 1940′s themed wedding. I have been married for 2 years and I am already planning our vow renewal which will be inspired by 40′s glam. When I think of this era, I think beautiful, sculptured hair, crystals, black, pearl, damask, feathers, tailored tuxedos and all out gorgeousness.

To really set off the theme, make sure you have a photographer that can give you the type of vintage shots you want. If you want to include your guests, make it a black-tie affair and indicate the “glam” factor on your invites.

Beautiful Color Combos

Traditionally, there are 2-3 colors in a wedding but I am not the traditional type. If you want more and know you can tie it in well, do it! Use two main colors for your bridesmaids and groomsmen then add another color to the ceremony decor, i.e. chair adornments, fans, programs. Your reception is where you can bring everything together and show off the color scheme on each table or throughout the room.
